Loop of the Whirl

Auh! I heard this song while shuffling through my music and I just had to share it!

It's by a band called TV on the Radio, which I remember making a big debut on my (then) local Indie music station in...2006 (I think?) with their song "Wolf Like Me." They've got a really unique, brain-emptying sound that makes me feel like my perception of the universe suddenly explodes and expands. Yeah. It's really good music, and really different, but very familiar at the same time. Take a listen.
And as always, thanks for reading.

Halloween Jitters!

I mentioned in my last post how much I love Halloween. I really, really love it. It's the only day out of the entire year where it's socially acceptable to not be yourself and dress and act like a maniac without a single person looking at you funny. Also, free candy.

I go crazy for any excuse for me to dress up (like a formal event) or in costume (like a family event). So, naturally, Halloween, let's me go crazy. And I usually do. I usually decide on a costume and start planning at the beginning of September. And for the past five years I've assembled/partially made my own costumes. Gone are store-bought kits and cheap jumpsuits! (Though I still buy costume supplies, not against that.) And every year, people seems to be surprised by my ingenuity or creativity. I always get complimented on my costume, so that's an upside.

This year is a great year for costumes, with movies like Disney's 'Frozen,' MARVEL's 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' and videogames like 'Destiny.' If I wasn't so set on my decision already, I'd be planning to dress as Star-Lord from 'Guardians of the Galaxy.'
Even the crummy costume kits look good for this guy
...but I'm not. Hit that jump and see what I've got planned...

Whoops, Sorry (And Loop of the Day)

I'll be honest, I have no idea how roughly two weeks have passed since I've posted. I also promised to continue to post songs on Tuesdays, at least. So...keeping that in mind, let's just...well, not keep that in mind. Let's forget about track Tuesdays, okay? I'll just do the "Loop of the Day" thing. Yes.

Hit the jump, and let's chat.

Track Tuesdays!

As I mentioned in the post previous to this one, I wanted to expand my blog's content. One way I had planned on doing this was weekly posts that pertained to a single topic or theme. One type of these posts I stole from my sis over at Albee Lucky. She would periodically post songs she labeled the "Loop of the Day." I'll be doing the same, except on a specific day -- Tuesday. The song (or songs) I post will (usually) be accompanied by a little paragraph talking about the song and why I'm posting it.

So, to kick off this weekly tradition, here's Track #1: 'Map of the Problematique' by Muse

This, like so many other songs I have in a specified Spotify playlist, holds a great deal of nostalgia for me. Not only is it a fantastic song, but it's got such a fantastic sound, like so any of the other tracks on this album. So, kick your feet up, lean back, and let the glorious sound of Muse in their prime take you somewhere else.

Why Would I Do This??

Hey there.

So, if you happened to stumble upon my introductory post, way back about a month ago when I started the blog, then you should know I mentioned that I was in the process of joining the ARG/ARE community as an author/director/writer (wow, that's a lot of /'s for one sentence.!) Hit the jump for more!
